Familiar Spirits
This is an important message because of the times we are in, and what I have witnessed personally in my life this past year has led me to release this post. Familiar Spirits have been running rampant throughout the Body of Christ, attacking even the innocent, and I say this genuinely, I believe every single Christian has been a victim of this at some point, and it is time to speak out on it so that others can become aware, if they are not already. Every time we came into an agreement with a voice that sounded like it was the Holy Spirit or like a “good spirit,” but it was really a spirit masquerading as one of light, we came into agreement with a Familiar spirit. Especially with social media being so accessible, we must build ourselves up so strongly in the word and spirit of God that we do not become deceived through all the different voices that sound alike but that may derive from evil spirits. We must also become so strong in the word and in the spirit that we know the voices of truth in the hour. Unfortunately, with all these different voices available on the internet, a mixture has crept into the church with great speed, along with that has come the spirit of confusion, calling the wrong voices right and the right voices wrong. With the help of the Holy Spirit and being sensitive to God’s word, we will avoid this and remain vigilant to what is going on in the times we are in.
Strict boundaries must be in place so that we can guard our spirits not just from hearing familiar spirits but from operating in one. Yes. Oooo! Ouch! Many Christians, unfortunately, have familiar spirits that they think is the Holy Spirit. They came through open doors that need to be shut. Some of these open doors include witchcraft, communicating with spirits such as spirit guides, coming into agreement with something someone who had a familiar spirit said, though it seemed innocent, bloodline issues, soul-ties, emotional manipulation, a particular lifestyle an individual may have grown up in, and even traumatic events. This is why it’s important to invite the Holy Spirit to lead us in our everyday lives so that we are casting down anything that is not of the Holy Spirit that is trying to trick us. These demons are really sneaky and deceptive. However, thank God for His sovereignty and for freedom in Jesus Christ, because the truth shall set us free! Yes, the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ shall set us free.
Boundaries we must place (please invite the Holy Spirit and ask him what may be some things you may have to implement in your personal lives so that your spirit is protected and discerning during these times):
You do not need to listen to everyone: Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the preachers in this hour that are truly the Lord’s vessels and preach truth. Ask Him to lead you to whom you should listen during this time. There are many amazing voices that God is raising in the hour, and it is a privilege; however, you do not need to listen to every single person. It can be a lot trying to keep up with everyone. One ministry can have what a particular individual needs, and the Lord may lead you to another ministry that may have what God needs you to receive to develop, and that is perfectly fine.
Be rooted in a Bible believing, Holy Spirit-filled Church. The leaders of that house will lead you in the ways of the Holy Spirit and will cover you as you grow in the Lord. Some things you should look out for to find a spirit-filled church: They preach biblical truth, help advance the kingdom of God on earth in the community that they are located in, promote prayer and fasting, and express the love of God very well.
KNOW HOW TO TEST THE SPIRIT AND APPLY IT TO YOUR LIFE EVERY DAY.
Humble yourself and go before the Lord and ask if the information or person who is presented to you is coming with the Holy Spirit or another spirit. The Bible is very clear that there are people who appear to be believers but do not have the true spirit of God.
Test the spirit of other people in your life. Something that surprised me this year was not the false prophets taking advantage of people for selfish gain on the internet, but believers who sounded like they heard from God, but their accuracy, but the spirit of God actually not being in them, but familiar spirits that knew the things of God, which were used to deceive other believers. (I have experienced this, and it was not a good situation to be in; I praise God for His mercy). It’s time to be extra, and what I mean by that is it’s time to take every single thing, no matter how small the matter may be, that we hear and pair it up with scripture. We have to be like the Bereans in the book of Acts and believe something only if we see it for ourselves, for the word of God. We must also give other people the grace to test our spirits on something because it is part of their walk as well as a believer in Jesus Christ. We should support them and not get offended.
Having your own personal relationship with God. Living a life of intimacy and consecration unto the Lord to know Him more, grow closer to the Lord, and to become more like Christ in heart and action.
My goal is for people to get clear sight and vision and to be watchful so that they do not fall into the traps of the enemy. Don’t be scared, this is God’s protection and mercy. Neither feel condemned nor shameful if you find yourself in this position. Rejoice instead that you have the sight to now be free from this. God bless you!
Witchcraft (spirit guides, manipulation) -
Emotional manipulation- People who manipulate people through gaslighting, flipping the truth, making people feel ashamed for something they didn’t actually do, and using scripture out of context to get the desired results from whoever they are manipulating.
Sin - opens doors for Familiar Spirits to come back and attack you once committed. Choose your battles wisely.
Masquerading Spirit- Spirits that appear as though they are of the light and truth, but are deceptive. Many times, when practicing another religion or even New Age occult practices, the Kundalini Spirit is present, which is the false Holy Spirit.
Trauma opens doors to familiarity —Trauma can sometimes bring confusion to an individual, not knowing what is good and what is bad. The person who experienced the trauma is not the one to blame for this at all; they just need healing so that they can move forward in freedom and not be bound by the bad experiences they had.
There are many other ways that this spirit could come in. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what ways it may have in your life.
Celebrating Halloween and Pagan Holidays - Christians need to understand that Halloween is not just a day to dress up, but a day where demons seek to prey on the lives of the ignorant to hinder them from fulfilling their God given destiny. Unfortunately, this Holiday majorly preys on children, and then we see them grow up afflicted, whether it’s visible or not. Don’t be fooled by feeling like everything is fine in nature because demons gain power to oppress people through the spiritual first, so all they need is legal rights. Parents, this is why it is important to set strong boundaries, even with the school your children attend, so that you do not want your children to participate in Halloween. I remember as a child, my parents would always tell me that Halloween was a day for the devil and did not allow me to partake in any activities for Halloween. However, as a child, I didn’t understand the why behind it, so when I went to school, I would partake in everything I knew my parents didn’t want me to, and I can see how these spirits took advantage of that to bring torment in my childhood years and even my teenage years. Thank God for freedom in Jesus Christ. Not only are spirits preying on people during this time, but so do workers of darkness in the earth, witches and warlocks. October 31st is still a day that the Lord made. We should still rejoice and glorify Him. Do not fear evil; however, overcome it with what is good and true. There are other Holidays that people partake in that actually open doors to the enemy (and no, I am not talking about Christmas or Thanksgiving). These holidays tend to be very low-key and only appreciated by those who truly participate in celebrating them. Some other Holidays of darkness are The Day of the Dead, Samhain (which is celebrated on October 31st, and Greater Sabbaths.

Dear Lord, heavenly Father, I come to you asking for help and strength to deliver me from all deceptive and familiar spirits. I repent for any open doors, known and unknown, that gave access to these spirits to operate in my life. I repent for the sin of _ (list whatever comes to mind that the Holy Spirit may be highlighting to you). I renounce these sins and break all covenants that were created with the spirits operating from them for myself and my bloodline. I declare my only covenant is with the Lord Jesus Christ, and I choose to walk before Him faithfully by the power of His Holy Spirit. Lord God, ask that you cleanse and keep me in all things so that I do not give the enemy a foothold to come back into my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
Also, If you would like to accept the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or even if you have backslidden and want to return to the Lord, here’s a prayer to guide you.
“ God almighty, I come before you to accept your love, to no longer reject you and what you have done for me. I choose to stop running from you and to finally stop rejecting myself of your love. Thank you for dying for me Lord Jesus, thank you for taking on my sins and shame. Thank you Lord that you became a curse for me so that I would no longer be bound by them but set free by your blood that was shed for me. Thank You for making yourself available to me, as friend, father, Lord, God, helper, comforter, savior, and all the good things I need in my life. Jesus I love you and ask you to help me keep loving you like how you want me to. I accept you completely as my Lord and savior, not what this world and demons have presented to me. Now I declare in the both spiritual and physical realm, that I not longer belong to Satan nor his Kingdom but according to Colossians 1:13, God has delivered me from the kingdom of darkness and has placed me in the Kingdom of light, where Jesus Christ is, I declare I belong to Jesus Christ and I now seat with Him In heavenly places. I rebuke all demonic retaliation in me making this decision and come into agreement with a sound mind in Jesus’ name. I repent, renounce, denounce, and divorce myself from all the sins I’ve committed (list what you can remember) and break the evil covenants associated with them, and I declare once again I am a part of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray and seal this prayer in His blood, Amen.”
Hallelujah! Congratulations if you made this decision. I pray that you prevail in your walk in the Lord, that forces of darkness continue to fail concerning you, and that the forces of light continue to persevere and propel you in the name of Jesus.
And if you have not yet, get yourself a Bible. Please, it’s a lot of ghetto foolishness concerning Christianity and religion. The Bible is the only way to protect you from it and will show you how to be a Christian and have a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
