When we link arms with heaven: The power of prayer
From my time in this Christian walk with the Lord, the one thing He has trained me up in every season of my life is prayer. If he has me teach another believer anything, it is that praying is important. Even in my evangelizing, he has shown me that in praying for others creates a space for Him to move how he desires. Prayer is our backbone in this Christian lifestyle and will provide support in everything we do. A prayerless Christian is ignorant of the will of God and is more than likely outside of His will for them, whether they are aware of it or not. Prayer is communication with God that allows a shift in ourselves, the earth realm, and the spiritual realm to align everything with God’s will so that the Kingdom of heaven can manifest itself on earth as it is in heaven, even in the littlest aspects of our lives (Matthew 6:9-13).
What is the number one thing that is done in heaven? God being worshipped. When we get to heaven, we will worship the Lord beyond the days and hours of 24/7, so when we pray for God’s kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, we are praying for the systems of heaven to manifest itself in the forms of worship unto God in every system on earth; marriage, parenthood, work, business, church, family, friendship, leadership, submission, sex, academics, industries, different nations, in nature, governments, etc. We are asking for heavenly worship to God to reveal itself in all things, especially in the living creatures made to worship Him (Psalm 19:1-6, Psalm 150).
The other day, I was in prayer with the Lord, and he gave me a beautiful prayer point I will share with you later on in this blog post. The way he tugged on my spirit was different than any way that I’ve ever experienced or even knew, he presented what he wanted to prayed in the earth realm but it was up to me to take it. He was looking for a vessel to pray something that He desired so that he could begin working on the earth concerning it as he willed. He was looking for someone to lock arms with heaven from earth, so that it could happen in the earth. This was not a “ I need Esther to pray this specifically” prayer point; it was a prayer that he was going to present to a vessel that was willing to pray it, he just needed someone to lock arms concerning it. Now I want to clear something up, I am not saying that God need’s us to work or else he is unable to do anything at all, He is sovereign and Lord so no. However I am saying that based on how he created us in the earth to have relationship with him, he uses us to help advance His will on earth, that is why we have dominion and authority on earth granted to us by Him (Genesis 1:28 and Matthew 6:10). It is a system he created between humanity and Him. We see this in Isaiah 6 when he is looking for a vessel, a prophet that will rise and speak to the nations the word of the Lord, no matter the weight. Isaiah 6:
What happens in the place of prayer (Just a couple of things):
When we pray, there are angels present with bowls to collect the incense of our prayers to bring it back to the Lord and begin to work on our behalf (Hebrews 1:14 and Revelation 5:8, “And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.”)
When we pray by the spirit of God, we are clearing ourselves out of the way, along with our desires, and allowing God’s will to become our own (Psalm 37:31 NLT).
When we pray in the presence of the Lord, the flesh dies, and our spirit arises in greater strength. Giving us the power to resist temptation and not fall into the traps of the enemy (Matthew 6:13 and Matthew 26:41).
When we pray, demonic strongholds, assignments, and activities are exposed and destroyed by the power and name of Jesus Christ. This brings freedom for us to operate in the flow of God’s will for us that was once hindered.
When we pray, we are also asking the Lord to examine us and are hearts so that He can perform spiritual surgery in us to remove anything that is not like Him, to fortify our faith in Him, and to heal us and make us whole. Repentance is powerful, and worship of God. It cleanses us of pride and helps us to be more willing to follow the ways of God the Father instead of resisting Him.
When we pray, dry areas and seasons of our lives can be revived. Lands and nations can also be revived.
When we pray, we are prepared for what’s to come in our day, week, or even further future. Prayer does not just affect our now, but our future as well.
When we pray, we get strategies and revelations, even revelations about great and mighty things that we do not know about. (Jeremiah 33:3, “ Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not).
When we pray, we are equipped to carry out the calling to be servants of Christ in the world, to be a light.
When we pray, it strengthens us to obey the commands and increases godly boldness in us.
When we pray, the fear of God increases in us.
When we pray, our worship of God increases in us.
When we pray, we are less likely to react and behave from our flesh, but instead from the spirit.
When we pray in intercession, our families, nations, governments, etc, are covered by God and can bring His will to stop demonic destruction from prospering.
When we pray, our character is renewed, and how we respond to things changes.
When we pray, it can bring lost souls into the salvation of Jesus Christ.
When we pray, it can reset the tone of our bloodline to no longer be in misery, drought, and rebellion but instead spiritual prosperity, worship unto God, and the work of Jesus Christ through salvation to rule in our bloodline (Exodus 20:6, Psalm 37:25, Isaiah 61:9).
When we pray, we will be delivered and/or protected from every spiritual blindness and deception.
When we pray, deliverance breaks out.
The point is that prayer is powerful because it allows us to come into agreement with God and for the earth to agree with heaven.
This is why there is so much warfare and hindrances that go on to build a strong prayer life and to show up to pray. Here are a few examples:
Forgetfulness and carelessness: not being intentional in setting time apart to seek the Lord in prayer in your day.
Sleepiness/ slumber: This is a huge one that typically happens when a believer intentionally sets themselves to read the word of God or pray.
Distractions: Getting distracted by something more pleasing to your flesh, by life’s troubles or demanding assignments, or distractions that you can not control that truly demand our attention and interfere with our time with the Lord. We cast out the spirit of distraction right now in the name of Jesus Christ!
Shame and condemnation: Not feeling worthy to pray to the Lord feeling so shameful or too “sinful” to be accepted by God, which is a lie. God wants you to draw near to Him and boldly so that he can help you and guide you, He can handle you! Come to his throne boldly in confidence in him (not your pride or shame). (Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need).
Laziness and not wanting to pray: Not having the desire to pray because it “feels like too much work” because you feel like it’s a task or just an assignment you have to do out of obligation, and not a form of worship to God. Which prayer is mostly for the benefit of the person praying. Sometimes legalism can interfere with pure worship when one loses focus on Jesus or forgets why they are doing something in the first place.
Praying Amiss: I see this as missing what was meant to be prayed in prayer because a person’s flesh was louder than the voice of God or the person did not kill their flesh in prayer so their desires is what stirred their prayer life, which leads to frustration with God because they did not pray by His word (correctly, using it to support what they wanted instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to guide them), and made their flesh a god instead. We see this in the book of James twice. In James 1:12 through 15 says, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” In James 4:1 through 3 states, “ From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Prayer (if you have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior please the full blog before praying this prayer, there’s a greater prayer than this at the end): Dear Lord, heavenly Father, I thank you for the commission you have released for us Christians to lock arms with you in prayer for your will to come in our lives personally and on the earth. (Now make it personal) I ask that you strengthen us during these times and bless us with the discipline, joy, and faith that are necessary in keeping an effective prayer life. Help us to always have our eyes locked on Jesus Christ and heaven, according to your word in Colossians 3:2, which tells us to “set our mind on the things above, not on the things on the earth.” I repent for any time I have prayed amiss, allowed slumber to overtake me in prayer, allowed distraction during prayer to drown out your voice, and viewed prayer from a heart that did it or avoided it grudgingly. I ask now, Lord, for forgiveness and ask that you revive my prayer life and my love for you by the blood of the lamb, Jesus Christ, the blood that has life in it. May you also restore prayer in our nations all across the earth, that hearts return to you. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
I now ask that if you feel led by the Holy Spirit, you join me in praying this prayer point continually throughout your days:
That those with disabilities, such as blindness, crippled, deaf, and more are blessed with the resources for them to have access to the Bible at all times. That they be sent Braille Bibles and audio Bibles, God can heal immediately, but having the resources to connect to God is important, too. It’s his heart. Pray that kingdom wealth begins to spread all through the body of Christ, so that we can contribute to this happening as well.
🩷God bless you all, it is such a privilege to share the revelations that God is teaching me with you all. He is equipping everyone in His body, he will not leave anyone behind. He has so much grace and patience for us and is not even rushing our process. He is walking with us as we walk with Him. May holiness and revival hit your heart, spiritual lives, and families as you press in the Lord Jesus Christ and this faith walk.
Also, If you would like to accept the love of God and His son, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, or even if you have backslidden and want to return to the Lord, Here’s a prayer to guide you.
“ God almighty, I come before you to accept your love, to no longer reject you and what you have done for me. I choose to stop running from you and to finally stop rejecting myself of your love. Thank you for dying for me Lord Jesus, thank you for taking on my sins and shame. Thank you Lord that you became a curse for me so that I would no longer be bound by them but set free by your blood that was shed for me. Thank You for making yourself available to me, as friend, father, Lord, God, helper, comforter, savior, and all the good things I need in my life. Jesus I love you and ask you to help me keep loving you like how you want me to. I accept you completely as my Lord and savior, not what this world and demons have presented to me. Now I declare in the both spiritual and physical realm, that I not longer belong to Satan nor his Kingdom but according to Colossians 1:13, God has delivered me from the kingdom of darkness and has placed me in the Kingdom of light, where Jesus Christ is, I declare I belong to Jesus Christ and I now seat with Him In heavenly places. I rebuke all demonic retaliation in me making this decision and come into agreement with a sound mind in Jesus name. I repent, renounce, denounce, and divorce myself from all the sins I’ve committed (list what you can remember) and break the evil covenants associated with them, and I declare once again I am a part of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. In Jesus name I pray and seal this prayer in His blood, Amen.”
Hallelujah! Congratulations if you made this decision. I pray that you prevail in your walk in the Lord, that forces of darkness continue to fail concerning you, and that the forces of light continue to persevere and propel you in the name of Jesus.
And if you have not yet, get you a Bible. Please, it’s a lot of ghetto foolishness concerning Christianity and religion. The Bible is the only way to protect you from it and will show you how to be a Christian and have a real relationship with Jesus Christ.
Let me know if you gave your life to Christ from praying the prayer in the comments.
